Perhaps the most sought after offensive player in the trade market going into the offseason of the 2011-12 NFL season is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb. Before the Eagles were knocked out of the playoffs in the wild card round by the Super Bowl winning Packers, the rumors of where Kolb would be next season began to swirl.

The 2010-11 season was going to be the turning point for the Eagles franchise. Donovan Mcnabb was no longer dressing in midnight green on Sundays and Kevin Kolb was going to lead the new direction. Then something happened that no one expected.

The Mike Vick Experience reopened.

It was fantastic theater to watch. From the Monday Night dominance against the Redskins, to the Miracle at the New Meadowlands in week 15 against the Giants, almost every week there was a highlight of the night that involved the Eagles. At one point in time they were the hottest team in the league. Analysts from every possible outlet were asking the question who can stop the Eagles?

Well come to find out it wasn’t anyone else that stopped the Eagles, it was an implosion from within. The Eagles offense became very stale. The opposing defenses figured out that if you could take the big plays away from Vick and co. they would not be able to function as a cohesive unit. The Eagles offense thrived on the home run like passes that acted as game changers, but as they did that they moved away from the staples of the West Coast offense that the team is supposedly built around.
