When most people think of TalkSportsPhilly, they envision pages and pages of articles on the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. While that is true, we at TSP also like to provide diversity for our readers. We’ve endeavored into articles on Penn State, and Temple. In the coming weeks, we plan to dive deep into the College Football Playoff/Bowl scene, and there is also a weekly NFL pick’em on the horizon for the TSP staff.

However, this time, we are going outside of the box, as they say. This article will be our first edition of a monthly WWE Pay-Per-View review. Once a month, my brother Robert Waterman and I will break down, and give our thoughts on WWE’s PPV. This month, we start off with what most expect to be a barbaric event….Hell In A Cell!

Match 1: Alberto Del Rio (w/Zeb Colter) defeats John Cena to win the WWE United States Championship

Ryan’s Take- This match was actually one of the few WWE matches that has excited me this year.   Cena has spent the better part of the last seven months, lining opponents up every week and knocking them down.   Cesaro, Ziggler, Rusev, etc….he has beaten them all.   It got to the point, that there was no one left that we have yet to see John face.   That led to the speculation and anticipation of a major debut of an NXT star.   Baron Corbin, Tyler Breeze, James Storm, or even Samoa Joe.  They were all brought up as possibilities.   This match could have even led to the surprising return of Daniel Bryan.   However, it was none of these men to answer the challenge, no sir.  It was the rather shocking return of former WWE & World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio.  I truly believe that WWE dropped the ball with this match.   They had a golden chance to create a new star, with the monumental impact of defeating John Cena for the United States Championship, in their first match. Instead, they bring back a former star that has accomplished all that he can with the company.   What does that prove?    Absolutely nothing.   It was a very perplexing move by the WWE, and I’m a little curious to see how it goes over.
