TSP Eagles Analysis by 94 WIP

As I read this article by Eliot Shorr-Parks, I inquired to him earlier about comment and talk about the last Eagles game, Eliot never got back to TSP to answer, We do agree that Howard coming back will plug a huge whole in the Eagles lineup.  A strong runner is the key to opening up this whole Eagles offense, what there is left of it though. Lets keep our fingers crossed and TSP thanks Eliot and 94WIP for their contribution to this article, hopefully further collaboration happens in the future.  Another Game review will be released before game on Sunday against the Giants.  Happy Holidays to all!

The Eagles are reportedly set to get back one of their best players as they make their push to the playoffs.

According to an ESPN report, the Eagles are planning on getting back running back Jordan Howard for this Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Howard has not played in any of the team’s last six games due to a stinger in his shoulder.

To make room for Howard the team reportedly plans to release running back Jay Ajayi, who has seen minimal action since rejoining the team a few weeks ago.

Assuming Howard does indeed return, the Eagles will enter the final game of the season — and likely the playoffs — with the best one-two punch at running back in the NFL. Rookie running back Miles Sanders has turned into a star in Howards’ absence, becoming a threat both on the ground and through the air.

Prior to Howard going down, Sanders was the clear No. 2 among the backs, with Howard getting the majority of the touches. Now that Howard is back those roles will likely — and should be — reversed, as Sanders has helped to carry this team to where they are and deserves to continue to be the No. 1 running back on the team.

The Eagles still have to beat the Giants to get into the playoffs, but coming off of their huge win over the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday, there is no denying that this team has more momentum than they have had all season — and getting Howard back only adds to that.
