Eagles vs Giants…Titans of the East Battle in Jersey

November 15th, 2020 by Leo | Comments Off on Eagles vs Giants…Titans of the East Battle in Jersey | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, TSP Radio

Well, here we are as Eagles fans coming off a much needed bye week and the Eagles still sit atop of the NFC East with a whopping 3-4-1 record.  The Giants come into the game with an even worse record at 2-7.  This doesn’t mean the Eagles are going to skate in with an easy victory at the Meadowlands.

Once again, the Eagles keys to winning the game are the Lines, both in protecting Wentz from sacks and putting pressure and getting sacks on their young QB Daniel Jones.  Carson Wentz will once again have to avoid giving up interceptions and holding on to the ball too long, and of course accuracy.  If the Eagles can establish a running game early, it will open up the passing game and Carson will hit his targets today if the Line can give good protection.

The Eagles will have right tackle Lane Johnson, running back Miles Sanders, tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Jalen Reagor playing this time around, which should make a big difference in the Eagles offensive scheme for the game.

Below is the Injury report for the Eagles this week:

TSP Radio and Talk Radio Podcasts, 10th Anniversary

April 22nd, 2020 by Leo | Comments Off on TSP Radio and Talk Radio Podcasts, 10th Anniversary | Filed in 94WIP, Events, General, Interviews, TSP Radio

Well, as most know who follow TalkSportsPhilly on the Internet and our various adventures in the Sports World of Philadelphia and Beyond, it is TSP’s 10th Anniversary year.  And what a year it has been, saying sarcastically :).  Over the years we have done different podcasts on a variety of subjects and guests.  It hasn’t been the mainstay for TSP like the Internet and Social Media but another outlet of content for sports in a different format.  A few co-hosts even moved on to larger broadcasts and continue in Sports today.

TSP would like to Thank all that supported, participated, contributed, and read and listened over the last 10 years and will be here for many years to come.

Below is a Radio Player with a lot of different episodes on it if you want to take a listen, just Sports Talk:

ENJOY!

Eagles vs Redskins Spoiler Game Hurdle #3

Well, once again the Eagles still hold their fate in their hands.  Somehow they managed to make it by spoiler game hurdle #2 and face the Redskins this week in spoiler game hurdle #3.  This time the lowly Redskins (3-10) get a chance to spoil the Eagles run for the playoffs and as I always note, anything can happen in inter-division games, no guarantees.

This is the time that Carson Wentz needs to show his franchise QB status, this is where the great ones step up and lead their team to the playoffs even with any shortcomings of the team.  As I said all the way thru the Eagles SuperBowl Run in 2018, if the players and lines hold their own, that’s it, they should win this game no problem.  Unfortunately, the Eagles have had a problem doing that this year.

The way I see it, if the Eagles D-line gets to Haskins and several sacks, get Ertz to have a productive day, and establish a running game combined with Wentz’s leadership, the prediction I will make is the Eagles will win 34-24.

To take a look at current standings, schedule, and other Eagles resources, check out the NFL Scoreboard page on TSP.  Bringing Philly 10 plus years of Philly Sports!  Thank You!

Leo talks with Haddad of 94 WIP

January 26th, 2016 by Leo | Comments Off on Leo talks with Haddad of 94 WIP | Filed in Interviews, Sports, TalkSportsPhilly, TSP Radio

94wip2

Last night as I was listening to 94 on TuneIn on my Playstation, they were talking about one of my favorite subjects over the last few years, the Sixers.  I’ve been listening to 94 since I’ve been a kid, of course it was a rock station before its reincarnation to a sports station a few years back and I was listening to Sludge last night whom I listen to a few times a week on a regular basis.  I enjoy his show and generally like the topics and his banter and background in music.

I rarely call in to 94 and decided on a whim, since it was his birthday, and he hit a hot button topic of mine to pick up the phone and join in and throw in my 2 cents.  The last time I called in to the Josh Innes show to talk about Bradford of the Eagles I identified myself and got my butt reamed on the air and never got to talk sports so this time I decided just to be an innocent fan.

Let me preface this that I don’t look at 94 as competition to TSP, I look at us as an add on to the fray in the Philly sports media market, TSP started in 2009 and WIP switched to a sports format from a rock station in 2011 and is currently the leader in  sports radio in the Philly market.  If you look up Philly sports radio or 94 WIP radio on Google you will notice TalkSportsPhilly on page 1 or 2 in the search results I’m proud to say.

I began my rant by saying how embarrassing I thought the Sixers were to the city of Philadelphia and what the fans could do to light a fire under this team to get them to perform or to run them out of the city.  Brian handled the question well and came up with some good responses and basically said that the only thing the fan base could do is withhold support and not show up for the games.  But as for seeing a contending team anytime in the near future, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

As I mentioned that I ran a sports media site here in Philly and what all us media guys would have to do with ourselves with all the basement dwelling teams we are housing here in Philly as of late, I was quickly cut off and our conversation ended.  I probably should have had the courtesy of identifying myself since I was a first time caller to his show, but I will call back again and let him know the next time when I do.  Til then, all of us fans will just have to suck it up and hope for the best as the Phillies season comes upon us and pray the Flyers make the playoffs this year.
