Seahawks vs Eagles Odds, Preview and Predictions

Seahawks vs Eagles 2020

Well, the Eagles have a full plate this Thanksgiving week’s game against the Seahawks.  The game is being played on Monday Night Football this week with the (7-3) Seahawks vs (3-6-1) Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field at 8:15pm on ESPN.  As we all saw in the Cowboys vs Washington game, Washington rolled over the injury ridden Cowboys with a 41-16 win to take over first place from the Eagles with Washington’s 4-7 record.

The Eagles are going to have to pull every trick out of the hat and solid play on both sides of the ball to pull away with a victory in order to regain 1st place in the NFC East.  This is a mighty task and the odds are not in the Eagles favor.  The odds show that the Eagles are 5-point underdogs against the Seahawks and I believe they are even bigger underdogs than that with the quality of play we saw last week.

Eagles vs Giants…Titans of the East Battle in Jersey

November 15th, 2020 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, TSP Radio

Well, here we are as Eagles fans coming off a much needed bye week and the Eagles still sit atop of the NFC East with a whopping 3-4-1 record.  The Giants come into the game with an even worse record at 2-7.  This doesn’t mean the Eagles are going to skate in with an easy victory at the Meadowlands.

Once again, the Eagles keys to winning the game are the Lines, both in protecting Wentz from sacks and putting pressure and getting sacks on their young QB Daniel Jones.  Carson Wentz will once again have to avoid giving up interceptions and holding on to the ball too long, and of course accuracy.  If the Eagles can establish a running game early, it will open up the passing game and Carson will hit his targets today if the Line can give good protection.

The Eagles will have right tackle Lane Johnson, running back Miles Sanders, tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Jalen Reagor playing this time around, which should make a big difference in the Eagles offensive scheme for the game.

Below is the Injury report for the Eagles this week:

Happy Sports New Years (Eagles vs Cowboys)

December 31st, 2017 by Leo | Comments Off on Happy Sports New Years (Eagles vs Cowboys) | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL

Well it is New Years Eve and time to ring in another new year.  No one believed the Eagles would be 14-2 with the best record in the NFL and clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs depending how far they go.  Of course the injury to Carson Wentz was a real blow, the Eagles still managed to pull out wins with the backup QB Nick Foles.  Yes, just like a few years ago Foles took a lot of criticism for his play and I for one am not one of those people.  I think the Eagles still have a shot in the Playoffs with Foles as QB.  He is a competitor, doesn’t turn the ball over much, can throw a nice ball, and holds his composure on the field.  Yes I know, he doesn’t always look pretty doing it but hey the Eagles have had worse QB’s.  If the D can step up and fill in the gaps the Eagles are still a tough team to beat and of course the old saying Defense wins Championships.

Today, we have our classic rivalry as the last game of the year in a cold climate facing the Dallas Cowboys.  I for one am picking the Eagles in a win with a close game 27-24, but my predictions are no better than anyone else’s and anything could happen.

Here is what some fans think when I asked what their predictions were and what should be the objective of the Eagles for this final game.

I guess the most important thing is to stay healthy, maybe the team will use the game as a way for the Eagles to jell together before the playoffs.  Technically the game doesn’t matter for the Eagles but no Eagles fan likes to lose to the Cowboys so it should be interesting the stance the Eagles take for the game.

How many Games will the Eagles win in 2016? Philly Sports News

August 28th, 2016 by Leo | Comments Off on How many Games will the Eagles win in 2016? Philly Sports News | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, Polls

EaglesgogreenWell Eagles fans another season is upon us and with all the off season moves and the pre season over, it leaves many wondering what the Eagles season ahead will hold for Philly fans.  With an untested and unknown new head coach Doug Pederson and their new #1 draft pick Carson Wentz as a possible future franchise QB, it leaves a lot of questions to be answered.  The Eagles made a lot of transactions in the off season and let go of a few players, most notably Riley Cooper and at the last minute Sam Bradford.  They also recently picked up Dorial Green-Beckham in a controversial move but he shows a lot of promise and remains to be seen how he will fare this year.  To see the transactions the Eagles made this year click here.

The Eagles as per the last few years have been tearing it up in the pre-season going 4-0 with an impressive win over the Colts 33-23 with Sam Bradford throwing 17/20 with 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Josh Huff and Dorial Green-Beckham each had a touchdown catch.  The Defense has been strong throughout the pre season and has been dominating the line led by Fletcher Cox.  The Eagles had another strong win over the Steelers in their 2nd preseason game 17-0 and finished off the pre season with a 14-6 win over the Jets.  As usual they look like they are contenders for the NFC East with these wins but as we have seen before their pre season success doesn’t really transfer into the regular season.  The surprise move of trading Bradford to the Vikings for a first round pick leaves Daniel and  Wentz as the QB’s.  Pederson stated Wentz will be the starting QB on opening day.  This last minute move changes the outlook of the season with a rookie QB at the helm.

So, TalkSportsPhilly would like to take a poll on what the fans think the Eagles record will be this year.  Answer the poll below:

Philadelphia Eagles: 2016 Offseason Outlook

January 4th, 2016 by Ryan Waterman | Comments Off on Philadelphia Eagles: 2016 Offseason Outlook | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, TalkSportsPhilly

A New Year is now upon us, and I would like to wish everyone a Happy 2016 on behalf of the staff here at TalkSportsPhilly.

Now that we’ve got that out-of-the-way, a once interesting off-season now seems all the more interesting.

In a bombshell announcement on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have fired head coach Chip Kelly.  Kelly led the team to a 26-21 record in his almost three full seasons as head coach. Only one of those seasons saw a NFC East championship come back to the City of Brotherly Love.

There’s no secret when it comes to Chip Kelly.  He took the NFL by storm in his first season, winning the NFC East.  The following year, he led the team to a 10-6 season, but faltered down the stretch. Having faltered, the Eagles lost their grip on the NFC East and resulted in missing the playoffs.  For some reason, Chip was then given the keys to the ship. Jeffrey Lurie believed that it as a good idea to make Chip “the guy” and give him complete control. Well, the absolute power went to Kelly’s head.  He tore this team to shreds. As a result of the outgoing talent and influx of new players, this team has wound up at 6-9.

It took 16 weeks, but the Eagles are finally eliminated from the NFC East race. Having lost five of their last seven games, the Eagles have no-one to blame, but themselves for ending their own season. The team has dropped games this season, that they’ve had absolutely no business dropping.  As the season started, it was the offense that cost us games. Defensively, this team stood on its’ damn head to keep us afloat. Holding the Cowboys to a single offensive touchdown in their week 2 loss should’ve been enough for a win. Hell, holding the Falcons to 26 points during the opening game should’ve resulted in a win. But, the Eagles offense failed to live up to their potential, resulting in a pair of heart-breaking losses. As the season has advance, the offense has continued to struggle mightily, and as a result- the defense has seen frequent exhaustion. With the defense constantly on the field, they started burning out easily resulting in an increase in points allowed per game. To just get straight to my point, the Eagles have severely underachieved. Whatever the reason for the Eagles struggles is, it’s glaringly obvious that something has to change in the offseason.

That my dear readers, is why I am here. Through this article, I will layout the offseason that our Eagles face ahead.  Additionally, I will take a look at potential replacements for Chip Kelly, following his shocking departure.

So without further delay, let’s get right down to it.

Report: Eagles have interest in safety Ron Parker

March 10th, 2015 by Sam Shipley | Comments Off on Report: Eagles have interest in safety Ron Parker | Filed in Eagles, Football, NFL

ronparker

The Eagles have a glaring need at safety and tried very hard to fill that need with Devin McCourty, but failed to sign him.

Still in the market for a starting safety to play alongside Malcolm Jenkins, the Eagles seem to have a new target in mind. According to NJ.Com’s Eliot Shorr-Parks, safety Ron Parker is on the teams “short list” of potential free agents to lock up when the new league year begins at 4:00 PM EST today.

Parker, 27, has played five years in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, and most recently the Kansas City Chiefs. Last season while playing for the Chiefs, Parker finished with 94 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one interception in 16 games.

He is also a versatile player, having experience playing both cornerback and safety.
