McNabb 11-4 in Last 15 Starts vs. Giants

The Meadowlands, East Rutherford, NJ

Sunday December 13, 2009

Game Time:
8:20 P.M., ET

A few weeks ago, when the Eagles faced the Bears, I stated it was the Eagles’ chance to recapture the heart of Philadelphia. Since that game, the Eagles have gone a perfect 3-0, beating the Bears, Redskins and Falcons. They are now a very respectable 8-4, and tied with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. It’s fair to say the Eagles answered my call. They have recaptured Philadelphia with their recent play.

J.A. Happ

J.A. Happ takes the mound tonight as the Phillies take on the Astros and try once again to reduce their magic number below three.

Happ (11-4, 2.79 ERA) won his last start, against the Brewers, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two runs, while striking out seven. He is a leading candidate for NL Rookie of the Year.

The Astros send Wilton Lopez (0-0, 8.44 ERA) to the hill, for his first major league start.

Moment of Truth for Kolb

September 20th, 2009 by Christian | 2 Comments | Filed in Eagles, General

Kevin Kolb will get the start at QB today in place of injured Donovan McNabb, as the Eagles take on the New Orleans Saints in Philadelphia.

The Eagles’ second round pick in the 2007 draft has played sparingly in eight regular season games, completing 24 of 45 passes with 0 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

The Eagles hope he lives up to the promise he showed in his senior year of college, throwing 30 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions, while leading the University of Houston’s Cougars to a 10-4 record. Jeff Garcia will back up Kolb.

The Saints are set at quarterback, featuring All-Pro Drew Brees, who threw six touchdowns last week against the doormat defense of the Detroit Lions.

New Orleans – 2 1/2

Joe Blanton

Joe Blanton takes the hill tonight as the Phillies look to complete a three game sweep of the Nationals in Washington.

Blanton has been on a roll, going 5-2 with a 2.33 ERA over his last eleven starts, but he’s struggled against the Nats this year. In three starts against Washington, he’s 0-1 with a 7.63 ERA, and Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn are a combined eight for fifteen against him in those games.

Game Time: 7:05 p.m. ET

Vegas Line:
