Eagles Final Spoiler Hurdle vs the Cowboys, Division and Playoffs on the Line

As hard as it may be to believe, the Eagles are one step away from winning the NFC East Division and a Playoff birth.  The same applies to the Dallas Cowboys as well making this head to head match-up the game of the week.  One of the most passionate rivalries in the NFL, this should prove to be a playoff type feel and all on the line play by both sides.

It is my belief the Eagles can win this game!  A few keys to victory are: Carson Wentz has to step up and lead as the Franchise QB he is.  The defense will tell the tale on both sides, the Eagles have to stop the run game or severely limit it and the corners can’t give up the deep pass.  As long as everyone else holds their own and produces like they should and establish some type of running game then, the Eagles will come away with the Victory!  Should the Eagles fail in these areas then it will be a long Monday in Philadelphia.

Here is the current Injury and Status report for the game on Sunday:

How many Games will the Eagles win in 2016? Philly Sports News

August 28th, 2016 by Leo | Comments Off on How many Games will the Eagles win in 2016? Philly Sports News | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, Polls

EaglesgogreenWell Eagles fans another season is upon us and with all the off season moves and the pre season over, it leaves many wondering what the Eagles season ahead will hold for Philly fans.  With an untested and unknown new head coach Doug Pederson and their new #1 draft pick Carson Wentz as a possible future franchise QB, it leaves a lot of questions to be answered.  The Eagles made a lot of transactions in the off season and let go of a few players, most notably Riley Cooper and at the last minute Sam Bradford.  They also recently picked up Dorial Green-Beckham in a controversial move but he shows a lot of promise and remains to be seen how he will fare this year.  To see the transactions the Eagles made this year click here.

The Eagles as per the last few years have been tearing it up in the pre-season going 4-0 with an impressive win over the Colts 33-23 with Sam Bradford throwing 17/20 with 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Josh Huff and Dorial Green-Beckham each had a touchdown catch.  The Defense has been strong throughout the pre season and has been dominating the line led by Fletcher Cox.  The Eagles had another strong win over the Steelers in their 2nd preseason game 17-0 and finished off the pre season with a 14-6 win over the Jets.  As usual they look like they are contenders for the NFC East with these wins but as we have seen before their pre season success doesn’t really transfer into the regular season.  The surprise move of trading Bradford to the Vikings for a first round pick leaves Daniel and  Wentz as the QB’s.  Pederson stated Wentz will be the starting QB on opening day.  This last minute move changes the outlook of the season with a rookie QB at the helm.

So, TalkSportsPhilly would like to take a poll on what the fans think the Eagles record will be this year.  Answer the poll below:

Report: Philadelphia Eagles Coaching Search is Over

Well, we’re a little over two weeks into the Philadelphia Eagles search for a new head coach. There have been many names rumored, fewer names confirmed, and the list has continued to grow shorter

The team began their search by interviewing running backs coach Deuce Staley. Pat Shurmur was next up, and had his own personal tryout by coaching the team against the New York Giants, in the regular season finale. Upon the completion of the season, the team interviewed former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase (later hired by the Miami Dolphins), former New York Giants offensive coordinator Ben Mcadoo (later hired by the Giants), Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson, Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, and former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.

It appears as if that search, has finally come to an end. Following losing out on the services of Gase, Mcadoo, and Coughlin, multiple media outlets are reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles plan to hire Doug Pederson as the team’s new head coach.

Report: Tom Coughlin withdraws name from consideration for Eagles head coaching job

January 14th, 2016 by Sam Shipley | Comments Off on Report: Tom Coughlin withdraws name from consideration for Eagles head coaching job | Filed in Eagles, Football, NFL

Earlier this morning reports were coming out that the Eagles and former New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin were potentially getting close on a deal. That has all changed now.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Coughlin has withdrawn his name from the Eagles head coaching search. Schefter states that it was “not the right fit”.

The news is kind of alarming for the Eagles because this is yet another candidate who has chosen not to take the head coaching job. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that he was told Coughlin had concerns about the Eagles job, including who the offensive coordinator would be.
