The Eagles Perfect 20/20 Vision for 2020

May 13th, 2020 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, Sports

TSP has been watching from the sidelines for most of 2020 as the world fights off the worst pandemic in a century. Especially hit hard are the Sports and Entertainment worlds, as they count on Social gathering and crowds to flourish.  Most of us are left wondering what will happen to sports for the next year and sports and entertainment in general.  There may have to be a paradigm shift in the way we approach Sports in order to adapt to conditions on the ground and overcome the obstacles that the Corona-virus has created.

This brings us to the point of this article, the Eagles 2020 season and the schedule.  TSP believes there will be a season and it can be managed safely even if the crowd aspect is diminished.  As with anything there is risk involved and should conditions warrant an adjustment during the season, then the NFL and Players have to be willing and able to do so.  Petty bickering over contracts and money between billionaires and millionaires just isn’t gonna fly during a pandemic where people are losing everything and wondering what they will do to survive.  Being sore winners in not a good look to the peasants.

With all that said, below is a graphic of the Eagles 2020 Schedule and TSP thinks it’s going to be a tough one.  I’m gonna go with a 10-6 or 9-7 record with the Division Title and hope for better if possible.

TSP Radio and Talk Radio Podcasts, 10th Anniversary

April 22nd, 2020 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in 94WIP, Events, General, Interviews, TSP Radio

Well, as most know who follow TalkSportsPhilly on the Internet and our various adventures in the Sports World of Philadelphia and Beyond, it is TSP’s 10th Anniversary year.  And what a year it has been, saying sarcastically :).  Over the years we have done different podcasts on a variety of subjects and guests.  It hasn’t been the mainstay for TSP like the Internet and Social Media but another outlet of content for sports in a different format.  A few co-hosts even moved on to larger broadcasts and continue in Sports today.

TSP would like to Thank all that supported, participated, contributed, and read and listened over the last 10 years and will be here for many years to come.

Below is a Radio Player with a lot of different episodes on it if you want to take a listen, just Sports Talk:

ENJOY!

TalkSportsPhilly’s 10th Anniversary

February 9th, 2020 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in General, PhillyWood, Sports, TalkSportsPhilly, TSP Radio

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of TalkSportsPhilly in the Philly media.  It has been a privilege to be in the Philly Sports Market for so long.  It’s not easy participating in such a competitive market as Philadelphia.  One of TSP’s premises was to allow anyone a opportunity to be in the sports market that normally would be locked out of the corporate sports market.  We gave opportunity to many writers over the years ranging from High School, College, to professionals in between jobs and wanted to stay active.  Over the years, this rag tag group of writers has published thousands of articles, covered tons of events, participated with charities, produced video and radio shows and gathered a large following on Social Media.

We are hoping to have an event this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary if we are able.  TSP has overcome some significant hurdles during its 10 years (details in PhillyWood Story) and has been able to survive and co-exist with the big boys of Comcast, 94 WIP, 97.5 Fanatic, Fox 29, and other local media.  It has been an honor to provide a unique style of coverage and wide range of diversity to the Philly Sports Market.

TSP Eagles Analysis by 94 WIP

As I read this article by Eliot Shorr-Parks, I inquired to him earlier about comment and talk about the last Eagles game, Eliot never got back to TSP to answer, We do agree that Howard coming back will plug a huge whole in the Eagles lineup.  A strong runner is the key to opening up this whole Eagles offense, what there is left of it though. Lets keep our fingers crossed and TSP thanks Eliot and 94WIP for their contribution to this article, hopefully further collaboration happens in the future.  Another Game review will be released before game on Sunday against the Giants.  Happy Holidays to all!

Eagles vs Redskins Spoiler Game Hurdle #3

December 14th, 2019 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, TalkSportsPhilly

Well, once again the Eagles still hold their fate in their hands.  Somehow they managed to make it by spoiler game hurdle #2 and face the Redskins this week in spoiler game hurdle #3.  This time the lowly Redskins (3-10) get a chance to spoil the Eagles run for the playoffs and as I always note, anything can happen in inter-division games, no guarantees.

This is the time that Carson Wentz needs to show his franchise QB status, this is where the great ones step up and lead their team to the playoffs even with any shortcomings of the team.  As I said all the way thru the Eagles SuperBowl Run in 2018, if the players and lines hold their own, that’s it, they should win this game no problem.  Unfortunately, the Eagles have had a problem doing that this year.

The way I see it, if the Eagles D-line gets to Haskins and several sacks, get Ertz to have a productive day, and establish a running game combined with Wentz’s leadership, the prediction I will make is the Eagles will win 34-24.

To take a look at current standings, schedule, and other Eagles resources, check out the NFL Scoreboard page on TSP.  Bringing Philly 10 plus years of Philly Sports!  Thank You!

Giants vs Eagles, Spoiler Game Hurdle #2

December 9th, 2019 by Leo | No Comments | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, NFL, Sports

At the beginning of the season everyone picked the Eagles to have a winning season of at least 10-6 and above.  Needless to say those aspirations didn’t come true and as of last week the Eagles needed to win out to take the division because there is no way else to get to the playoffs.  Luckily, even after a ugly loss to the Dolphins the Eagles (5-7) still hold their fate in their own hands thanks to Dallas (6-7) having a loss themselves.  So, somehow we survived spoiler hurdle #1.

Now the Giants are in position to play spoiler this week, even going as far as bringing in Eli Manning to try and bring a win.  A risky venture for Eli because if he loses this game then he will have a losing QB record for his career, currently standing at an even win-loss record of 116-116.

Eli Manning Career Stats

Even though the Eagles should win this game no problem, this year you can’t count on anything and with the rest of the games being inter-division, anything could happen.  Lets keep our fingers crossed and see if the Eagles can clear hurdle #2. Here is a listing of the Injury report for tonight’s game.  Fly Eagles Fly!
