Here in Philly we are all familiar with the tragic loss of Roy Halladay after a plane crash in 2017.  We were all saddened after a long and fantastic career in the MLB, 12 years with the Toronto Blue Jays and 4 years with the Phillies including a Perfect game in 2010.

The Baseball Writers Association of America officially released its 2019 Hall of Fame voting results. there were four players who will be inducted into Cooperstown this July: pitchers Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay and Mike Mussina, as well as designated hitter Edgar Martinez.

Of course we here in Philly and Toronto were happy to see Roy made the HOF on the first ballot.   During his 16-year career, he won two Cy Young Awards and played in eight All-Star Games. He also won 203 games and figures to be remembered as one of the old school hard working pitcher thanks in part to his 250-inning season in 2010.

Here is an image of his stats over his career that can be referenced at the Baseball Reference website.

Although it has a bittersweet taste, Roy Halladay’s surviving widow and 2 children released a statement after his induction into the HOF that his son Braden wrote.

SuperBowl LIII: New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams

January 21st, 2019 by Leo | Comments Off on SuperBowl LIII: New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams | Filed in Eagles, Football, General, Sports

Well, the teams that are in the SuperBowl this year has been set.  Here in Philly we were hoping for a back to back Superbowl wins after Nick Foles delivered the miracle in 2018 for the Philadelphia Eagles first ever SuperBowl win!  We celebrated all year long basking in the glow of our teams win and thought that the miracle might happen again as St. Nick stepped in for an injured Carson Wentz and got the Eagles into the playoffs even though everyone counted them out of that option.  The Eagles made it to the Divisional round but fell to the Saints in a heart-breaking loss.

This weekend we saw both the AFC and NFC championship games featuring the Rams vs Saints and the Chiefs vs Patriots.  Both games were exciting and even had some controversial calls by the Refs, including the incredibly missed pass interference call in the Rams vs Saints game.  Both games went into OT and that was a first for the NFL.  Both the Rams and the Patriots won in Overtime and are headed to Atlanta on Feb. 3rd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
