Flyers & Sixers news: Possible Big Moves for Both Teams

These past couple of days have been interesting to say the least for both the Sixers and the Flyers. Yesterday the report came out that the Sixers were close to being sold to a group headed by Joshua Harris. Then last night the Flyers acquired the rights to sign goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. Then this morning the trade rumors fired up around Andre Iguodala and Monta Ellis. It is a lot to digest in just a 48 hour period to say the least.

Ilya Bryzgalov

I was stunned to see the articles this morning discussing the possible exit of Sergei Bobrovsky because of the Bryzgalov trade. This seems rather preposterousness because part of the reason that made Bryzgalov a perfect fit for the Flyers was that he could help Bobs with the transition from Russia to the United States. Bob can learn so much information from the veteran that it would be idiotic to get rid of the young goaltender at this point. Remember this Bryzgalov is turning 31 this month and Bobs turns 23 later this year. There are only so many good years left in the tank for Bryzgalov and Bob is the goalie of the future for the Flyers.

The two Russian goaltenders could make for the best combination of goalies in the league, which can only help the Flyers on their run back to the Stanley Cup finals next season. Take a look at the stats below if you don’t agree,
