The Weekly Manifesto (Wk 2)

If this doesn't scream "I'm a respected member of the media" then I don't know what does!

The Weekly Manifesto is a weekly installment of my rants and raves for the past week in sports.  I will cover anything relevant, but lean toward those things that impact the best sports fans in the world.

It had been a semi tame week in the world of sports… until Clinton Portis got involved.  Some people call him cooky, or idiosyncratic.  I call him bat s*&t crazy.  For those of you who haven’t heard, Portis weighed in on a brewing controversy surrounding female sports reporter Ines Sainz (pictured above).  Sainz was reporting from the Jets’ locker room following their Monday night loss, and apparently some of the boys were engaging in some tomfoolery that may be interpreted as sexual harassment of a female reporter.

Here is what Portis had to say about the issue:

“I think you put women reporters in the locker room in position to see guys walking around naked, and you sit in the locker room with 53 guys, and all of a sudden you see a nice woman in the locker room. I think men are going to tend to turn and look and want to say something to that woman.”
