Halladay Does It Again

Halladay Bears Down on Cards

The Good: Roy Halladay went seven strong innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), while striking out nine. He pushed his record to 6-1 on the season. Jayson Werth hit a 3 run homer, his fifth of the season, and Raul Ibanez also homered, deep into the second deck in right field. Phils win 7-2, and take 3 out of 4 from the Cards.

The Bad: Not much here.  If I had to nit pick, Halladay didn’t have his best stuff and walked three.  It was a pretty solid game overall by the Phillies.  Every starting batter had a base hit.

Commentary: Nice rebound after the San Francisco series.  They took two of three from the Mets and  now three of four from St. Louis in what many consider to be a matchup between the NL’s two top teams, and a possible NLCS preview. The Phillies inproved to 17-11 on the season and lead the NL East by two games over the Mets.

Next Game: Friday (5/7) vs. Atlanta at The Bank
Game Time: 7:05 p.m. ET
Pitching Matchup: Jamie Moyer (3-2, 5.70) vs. Derek Lowe (4-2, 5.18)

Flyers Show No Heart

Tee Time for Flyers

I have been doing the reports on the Flyers series against the Bruins.

I have no rant or rave after the most heartless performance I have seen from a hockey team since the Devils pathetic effort against our Flyers.

Coming home and in a must win situation the Flyers did one and only one thing correctly. They jumped up with a lead. They then preceded to take the day off. An absolutely heartless, gutless, wimpy effort!

I don’t want to be negative but I have to.  I see hell freezing over before the Flyers win 4 in a row to advance to the Conference finals.
