Eagles-Falcons Preview

Game Time & Place: 1 p.m. ET, Georgia Dome, Atlanta

The Eagles fly into Atlanta riding the momentum of two fourth quarter come back wins. And although they’ll be playing without DeSean Jackson (concussion) and Brian Westbrook (concussion), the Eagles are poised to win this game and solidify their wildcard position. At 7-4, the Eagles are one game ahead of the Falcons at 6-5.

A healthy Donovan McNabb still has plenty of offensive weapons to get the job done.

Filling in for Westbrook, rookie LeSean McCoy has looked terrific all year, rushing for 528 yards and three touchdowns, along with 27 catches for 206 yards. McCoy appears to be the starter of the present and future. Westbrook, who has suffered consecutive concussions, may be near the end of a great career.

Without DeSean Jackson, McNabb will look to receivers Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant and tight end Brent Celek, who boasts a career-high 601 receiving yards this season.

The Falcons are without starting franchise quarterback Matt Ryan (turf toe), and star running back Michael Turner missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday after re-aggravating an ankle sprain. He is questionable, and even if he plays, his effectiveness will likely be limited.
