After a blowout winner on the San Diego Chargers on Christmas Day, my record now stands at 14-8 as we look to keep the good times rolling. Let’s get right to the Sunday Card.
Green Bay Packers (-13.5) over Seattle Seahawks/ 1pm Sunday
How bad are the Seahawks? That is the question this Sunday. Surely giving almost two touchdowns in the NFL is not very common but in this case it is necessary. We are talking about a Seahawks team that has struggled with every facet of the game for the entire season, and just last week lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To an outsider looking in, it appears that this team has completely packed it in on Jim Mora. They have nothing left to play for this season, and in general are an aging team with no clear cut signs for growth in the future. Matt Hasselback is having the worst season of his career and it continues to spiral downward, big free agent signing TJ Houshmanzadeh has been nothing short of awful for them, and their defense has not stopped anyone all season.
The Seahawks have been held to 9 points or less, a league-leading four times this season. Three of their five wins came against the Lions and Rams, they have lost six games by 17 or more, and they have lost 8 games by 10 or more. Now the Seahawks head on the road out to Lambeau to face a Packers team with playoff aspirations, coming off a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. As well as Aaron Rodgers is playing right now, it is going to be almost impossible for this horrendous Seahawks defense to slow him down. Look for this game to get ugly very quickly as Rodgers and the Packers make a mockery of an already disgraceful football team. Roll with Green Bay minus the big number.

I would like to start off by wishing everyone and their families a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Nothing better than a little Christmas Day football but don’t forget to tune into the Lakers Cavs game while you are killing time till 7:30. Now down to business. After a brutal Sunday my record still stands at a respectable 13-8 overall and I fully intend to right the ship this Christmas Day. Enjoy the pick and the game. I have not been giving out NBA picks due to the overall number of NFL games to choose from but with only one game going tonight at 7:30, my basketball pick of the day will be the Lakers minus the number over the Cavs.
San Diego Chargers (+3) over Tennessee Titans/ 7:35 pm Friday
The Chargers enter this game having won 9 games in a row and they look to push their streak to double digits tonight in Tennessee. This will be a gruesome matchup between two very physical football teams that can move the ball on the ground and through the air. Bolts’ QB Philip Rivers is playing the best football of his career and the combination of Darren Sproles and Ladainian Tomlinson are getting it done on the ground. With a receiving group of Antonio Gates, Vincent Jackson, Malcom Floyd, and Legedu Naanee they are almost impossible to match up against.
On the other hand you have a Titans team who started off the season 0-6 and has since rebounded dramatically to now stand at 7-7. That’s a record of 7-1 since Jeff Fisher gave the reigns over to Vince Young. The Titans also have some guy named Chris Johnson, I don’t know if you’ve heard of him but he is challenging Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record. He needs 270 yards in the final 2 games to break the record and he is currently running like a man possessed. Any defense will have their hands full trying to stop him on any given week.

While I was a tad upset Donovan missed Jackson twice on bombs to break the longest TD record I was satisfied with this game. In all honesty I thought it should have or at least could have been a blowout minus some bonehead pics by McNabb.
While I like seeing the Eagles make yet another late season run like the Garcia year and last year. My fear is I am being set up once again for heartache. The Eagles have this knack for getting me amped then throw in a clunker when they are at heavens gate. Who knows, maybe the Vikes will lose yet another and we can get a bye and have a legitimate shot at another title game. Or it could swing the other way and Dallas pulls out the division, which I doubt with their choke history.
The only way I see anyone getting the right to play SD or Indy in the big dance is to have to literally knock Drew Brees out with a concussion. Sure the Boys looked good against the Saints but they were due for a loss, like the way the Colts should have lost on Thursday.

After a rough loss on Monday Night, the updated record now stands at 13-6.
Houston Texans (-14) over St. Louis Rams/ 1pm Sunday
How can It get any worse for the Rams? They lose starter Marc Bulger to a broken leg, they lose back up Kyle Boller to arm soreness, and are left with Craig Null to start last week. The former back up to Ryan Leaf was nothing short of awful last week against the Titans. To top things off, the swine flu made its way around the locker room, causing head coach Steve Spagnuolo to cancel practice on Thursday. One of the many players affected by the swine flu is Steven Jackson, the best player on the football team. Add that to his balky back that has been bothering him for several weeks and this spells disaster for the Rams.
Look for Matt Schaub and the Texans to jump out early, and score quite often. It is sad what the Rams organization has become to this point and it will only get worse this afternoon. Take Texans minus the points.
