Trotter with 1’s

October 6th, 2009 by Rossi711 | 2 Comments | Filed in Eagles, Football, General

Trotter

According to the eagles website, Trotter is working with the starting defense in practice. If that is true, how bad are the LB’s that the Eagles have to go to a player two years removed. Is Trotter better than what we already have?

Newly signed Jeremiah Trotter says he split the MLB reps evenly with Omar Gaither at practice Monday.

Trotter was already declining when he left the league in 2007, so this is an ill-fated experiment. Trotter could always stop the run, but the Birds better not ask him to cover anyone. Expect Gaither to get the majority of work Sunday against the Bucs.

Feliz Slams Phils to Within One

Pedro Feliz

Citizen’s Bank Park was rocking last night in what seemed like playoff atmosphere. Pedro Feliz hit the first pitch he saw in the fourth inning into the left-center field seats, putting the Phillies up 5-1, and providing the cushion they needed for the 7-4 win.

J.A. Happ was effective, allowing four runs — three earned — and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out six. It was victory number 12 for Happ this season.

The Phillies win, combined with the Braves loss to the Marlins, pushed the Phillies magic number to one. With a victory, or a loss by the Braves, they’ll clinch their third consecutive NL East division title.

Lee Regains Form, Magic Number 12

Cliff Lee

The worst team in baseball can help a pitcher, and the Washington Nationals did just that Tuesday night. Cliff Lee returned to the dominant form he exhibited in his first five starts with Philadelphia. Lee pitched a complete game, six hit shutout, striking out nine.

Carlos Ruiz had three RBIs and the Phillies reduced their magic number to 12.

Shane Victorino

The Phillies look to complete a sweep of their day-night doubleheader when they take on the Mets at Citizen’s Bank Park. Pedro Martinez takes the hill and the game is televised nationally on ESPN.

Shane Victorino hit a two-run home run in the first game to spark Philadelphia to a 5-4 victory. Brad Lidge picked up the save.

Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde?

Cliff Lee

Which Cliff Lee will show up tonight, the mystifying pitcher who was nearly unhittable while going 5-0 with a 0.68 ERA since being traded to Philly, or the punching bag who has gone 0-2 with a swollen 13.50 in his last two starts?

Hopefully, the former will appear as the Phillies meet the Nationals for Game 2 of their three game set in Washington.

The Phillies have won eight straight against the Nats.
Vegas Line:
