Eagles sign CB Thurmond to 1-year deal

March 11th, 2015 by Sam Shipley | Filed under Eagles, NFL.

The Eagles have added another former Seattle Seahawk cornerback to their own defense, signing Walter Thurmond this morning. The news was first reported by Adam Schefter on Twitter this morning.

Thurmond, 27, has some come to the Eagles after an unsuccessful year with the New York Giants where he appeared in only two games due to a torn pectoral muscle. He joins former, and once again, teammate Byron Maxwell in Philadelphia. Both Maxwell and Thurmond were members of the famous Seattle Seahawks “Legion of Boom” secondary, that featured Thurmond as the nickel cornerback. In 36 career games he has just one interception, but is also a very versatile cornerback who can play both inside and out.

The Eagles secondary now features Byron Maxwell, Walter Thurmond, Brandon Boykin, Nolan Carroll,  and Jaylen Watkins, with Malcolm Jenkins at safety.
