NFL Thanksgiving Banquet Change a Must

November 24th, 2010 by Schmitty | Comments Off on NFL Thanksgiving Banquet Change a Must | Filed in General

Traditon is great, EXCEPT when it comes to the absolute RIDICULOUSLY stupid, idiotic and BORING tradition of having the nightmare Detroit Lions and horrific Dallas Cowboys put an already tired nation from eating turkey to sleep even earlier every Thanksgiving!

I did like the fact the NFL added a third game to their Thanksgiving schedule. But as far as the perennial LOSER Lions and POSER Cowboys play every year is ENOUGH!

My suggestion is either have teams that actually were good consistently for the previous years play one another. Or even more fair would be to have it on a rotating basis so EVERY single NFL team garners exposure every few years. The fans deserve it!

Enough of this slop that the Detroit and Dallas franchises limp out there and disgrace the National Football League and insult it’s paying audience!

I Can't Watch!

Which of these turds will have you riveted to the tube?

Patriots vs. Lions (Please, for the love of God, remove the Lions from the Thanksgiving Day schedule!)
Prediction: Patriots 172 – Lions 0

Cowboys vs. Saints (The Cowboys are 2-7 and have a knack for lying down like dogs.  Go Saints!)
Prediction: Saints 38 – Cowboys 17

Jets vs. Bengals (What could be worse that watching Chad Ochocinco?  Watching Chad Ochocinco AND Terrell Owens!)
Prediction: Jets 28 – Bengals 3

Contender Town!

World's Greatest Fans Deserve a Contender

Aside from the pathetic squad of hoops players the Sixers march out on the hardwood, Philly has become contender town!

Yes, the Phillies, who had the best regular season in MLB in 2010 came up short against an OVER ACHIEVING San Francisco bunch.  The Phils could not come up with timely hitting and played the worst defensive ball I have witnessed in years in a playoff series.  Still, they will send out the best 25 man roster in baseball in 2011.  I envision them beating the Braves or Reds on their way back to beat Tampa.

The Flyers, fresh on the heels of their strong run to the Cup Finals last year, look every bit the team to challenge the Capitals for the right to play a Western Conference foe, such as the Red Wings, for the title in the Spring of 2011.  Maybe a little revenge for ’97 is in order.

And the Eagles offense, now led by a poised, accurate passing and lighting fast Michael Vick, along with emerging superstars Jackson, McCoy and Maclin, are a legitimate NFC contender to appear in the big dance in February of 2011!  Look for them to clip the Falcons or dethrone the Saints!!

Sixers Lose to Wizards in OT 116-114

The Sixers plucked defeat from the jaws of victory last night.  With the Sixers leading by 3 points, Jrue  (love the spelling!) Holiday fouled John Wall in the act of shooting, near mid-court!  Wall made all three free throws to push the game into OT, where the Wizards prevailed.
