In a very exciting first game of these 2010 Stanley Cup finals, the Blackhawks edged the Flyers 6-5, and it really could have gone either way.
It was an explosive, offensive battle where the goalies gave up some questionable goals. Both defenses were sloppy clearing rebounds, which led to see-saw lead changes all game long. Look for a tighter, lower scoring battle in game 2 in Chicago on Monday evening.
As a Flyers fan, I was not happy with two stops of play when the Blackhawks goalie’s facemask became dislodged as the Flyers were circling in the offensive end. Yet, there were no penalties against the Flyers, which is rare. Things seem to even out in the long run.
Look for the first lines of both teams to tally some goals and points moving forward. I still pick the Flyers in six games.
