Bochy Job!

Bad Move By Bochy

The Good: With reigning, consecutive Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum dominating the Phillies and cruising to an effortless 4-1 victory, Giants manager Bruce Bochy pulled him from the game with one out in the ninth inning.  This opened the flood gates for the Phillies, who scored three in the ninth to tie, before eventually winning in the eleventh.  Ryan Howard homered off Lincencum in the fifth, snapping a 65 at-bat homerless streak.  Phils win, luckily, 7-6.

The Bad: The top six Phillies hitters struck out eleven times, and the offense struggled again, until the ninth.

Commentary: After salvaging yesterday’s game, the Phillies return home with a 4-5 record on their road trip.  Not bad, considering they should be 3-6.  They open a three game series against the suddenly red-hot NY Mets on Friday. The Mets are 9-1 in their last 10, and lead the NL East by a half game over the Phillies.

Next Game: Friday vs. NY Mets, at The Bank
Game Time: 7:05 p.m. ET
Pitching Matchup: Kyle Kendrick (0-0, 7.71) vs. John Niese (0-1, 3.68)
